About Partnership Erie
Our Mission
To engage organizations in Erie and surrounding communities with students and faculty in the Black School of Business. The objectives of this engagement are to provide the students opportunities to apply their knowledge in the area of web design, database development, app development, and social media strategy.
Our History
Founded in 2001, Partnership Erie was established to provide nonprofit organizations in Pennsylvania an opportunity to launch an online presence without the significant expense of hiring and IT staff and technical consultation. Partnership Erie, an outreach program of Penn State Erie, The Behrend College was established to provide complimentary web planning, development, hosting, and maintenance services to the nonprofit community.
The partnerships we establish with the community allow Penn State Erie the opportunity to exchange information with external audiences and reach out to the community by identifying organizational web needs, and the opportunity to plan and develop an approach to electronically presenting and marketing the non-profit organization while providing Penn State Erie students with practical web development experience.
Our Services
The Execution of design and development projects involves not only students but faculty, and interns along with representatives from the organization. Students can work with members of the community to complete a professional final product. Through this we strive to:
- Develop partnerships to assist in developing internship and project opportunities.
- Collaborate to strengthen the overall project and provide a professional product.
- Provide professional and impactful project results to community partners.
- Encourage service learning and community awareness with student driven projects.
- Provide training and ongoing guidance to client organizations and students.
- Conduct community presentations and informational sessions.
